Piazzolla in Brass ensemble

I have found some interesting arrangements of the music by Piazzolla for the brass ensemble.

A. Piazzolla Libertango KYIV-BRASS

I found this recording very interesting because of the very brassy sound texture of the whole group.

KYIV BRASS
KYIV-BRASS is a professional brass ensemble of international standing from Ukraine. The artists of the National Concert Hall for Organ and Chamber Music in Kiev, one of the most important cultural institutions in Ukraine, are among the most renowned musicians of the Ukrainian brass school. They are winners of numerous international competitions and take part in many ensembles and projects in Ukraine. The leader of the ensemble is the Ukrainian trumpeter Andriy Ilkiv, who is also the principal trumpeter of the Würth Philharmonic. For more than 15 years he has been a soloist at the National Concert Hall for Organ and Chamber Music in Kiev. Appearances have taken him to the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Munich Philharmonic, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Belgrade Philharmonic as well as to France, Spain and China, among others. Andriy Ilkiv is the representative of Ukraine in the World & European Brass Association and teaches at the National Tchaikovsky Music Academy of Ukraine.

Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla | Oregon Brass Quintet

The Oregon Brass Quintet plays "Oblivion," one of composer Astor Piazzolla's most beloved tangos, while associate professors Brad Garner and Shannon Mockli from the University of Oregon Department of Dance perform a tango-inspired choreography. The Argentine-born Piazzolla revolutionized traditional tango music, fusing it with elements of classical and jazz and creating a new style that came to be known as "nuevo tango."

The Oregon Brass Quintet is made up of faculty members and instructors from the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, including: Lydia Van Dreel on horn; Sarah Viens and Aaron Kahn on trumpet; Henry Henniger on trombone; and Michael Grose on tuba.

This video contains tango-inspired choreography that can help the audience to both aurally and visually understand the music, which is a very creative way to attract the audience's attention.
